The United States and the United Kingdom have initiated a series of airstrikes targeting locations in Yemen's Ta'izz and Hudaydah provinces. This comes as Yemeni forces continue maritime operations against vessels linked to Israel in the Red Sea.

According to Yemen's official Saba news agency, airstrikes struck the At-Ta'iziyah district in Ta’izz province and the al-Durayhimi district in Hudaydah province. Details on casualties remain scarce.

In response to the airstrikes, a senior member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, Mohammad Ali al-Houthi, condemned the US actions, warning of severe repercussions for their aggression. Al-Houthi emphasized Yemeni resolve against American forces, asserting that Yemeni fighters are prepared to defend their territory.

A senior Iraqi Shia cleric criticized the US for expanding military actions from Gaza to Yemen, stating that American occupation of Yemeni land is untenable.

Al-Houthi praised Yemeni military preparedness showcased in the recent "Promised Day" war game, highlighting their readiness to counter any ground invasion.

The airstrikes by the US and UK are part of ongoing actions since Washington and its allies pledged support to Israel, holding Yemen responsible for attacks on Israeli-affiliated ships. Yemeni support for Palestine's struggle against Israeli occupation has intensified since the Gaza conflict.

Yemen's retaliatory maritime strikes have disrupted major shipping and oil companies' operations, forcing vessels to divert around Africa instead of using the Suez Canal.
